Ah okay, yes that would be my problem. All of my slices have multiple ips. Thanks for the clarification and I look forward to the 1.2 update.

@Kyle: sorry for the troubles. do you have multiple IP addresses on any of your slices? If so, the app is going to crash until Apple approves the version 1.2 update.

I, too, tried to install this application on my iPhone 3G, and after trying a couple times to get the API key correct, I finally did, and soon after I start the app it inevitably goes back to the menu, no matter what part of the app I may try to view. I wish I could use this app, it sounds like a great time saver.

@Chris: Mail.app isn't going to automatically recognize that string format as a URL, so you have to actually make it be an html link. I use gmail and use the "make link" button in the compose mail page.

Sounds like a great little app

The slicehost:// doesn't work in mail.app on the iphone though and I really can't be f#cked typing in that API key ;)

Any reason it doesn't work as expected?

Mike,

OK, I'll be looking forward to the update with password protection.

It is handy to see status without having to mess with the keyboard so you might show status (name/state) along with the password entry so that a password is provided before the user can muck around with the state of the slice whether it's a reboot, dns change or whatever.

@Jason: I'm not sure I follow... on the Pro version (using a slicehostpro:// link), it should *add* the API key. If you're using the free version (with a slicehost:// link), it'll replace whatever API key you're using with the latest one you enter. I'll test again and make sure it's not overwriting API keys when it shouldn't.

@Denton: I love that idea...I actually had that in my to-do list for a future version of Slicehost Pro, but I wasn't sure if anyone would want it. I'm definitely going to do it now, so look out for it in a future update :)

Mike,

Very handy - thanks. One thing that I think would make it better would be to password protect the app.

Losing my iPhone would be bad but having the person who finds it reboot our slices would make more people than me unhappy. I know I can turn off API access password protection would be better.

Maybe this would be a good feature differntatior for the Pro version?

Again, thanks!
