Slicehost for Android Released
The Slicehost app for Android has been released. It’s available on the Android Market right now, since there’s no waiting/review period like there is with the iPhone App Store.
If anyone has any problems with it, let me know via email or in the comments. I hope you enjoy it!
Hmm. It silently does nothing much on my (v1.5) HTC Magic.
I’m pretty sure I’m getting the key entered correctly. When I refresh it sits there and says ‘Loading…’ for a while and then that disappears and the panel is otherwise blank.
Have you managed to test with 1.5?
This isn’t a 1.5 issue. Someone else pointed this out to me over the weekend, and I confirmed it on the dev phone I’m using. It appears that something has changed on the Slicehost end, but I’m not sure what yet, as the iPhone app still loads everything correctly. I’m currently looking into the problem. Sorry for the trouble
Hey, no trouble at all. I don’t have many slices or any domains in my slicehost admin but if there’s anything I can help testing with (I have a Vodafone HTC Magic in the UK), let me know.
Okay, I’ve figured out the problem. I’ll be posting a fix either tonight or tomorrow night.
Cool! Thanks.
The fix is out now. Now let’s get back to our slice-rebooting dns-changing mayhem
Yep, that works! Thanks Mike.
Hi,

It should be available in all locations for the Android Market. Did you search “Slicehost” ?
[...] the problems you might face. For instance, I’ve found it really convenient that there’s an application that interfaces with the API for my Virtual Private Server, Slicehost. I no longer have to fumble around with the browser trying find the page which reboots the VPS, I [...]
Thanks so much for the app. It’s worked great so far. Never thought I would be a adding DNS zones/records when I’m bored waiting in line.
Any chance I could get the source? I need to be able to manage multiple accounts, and I can’t see a way to do so with the current implementation. I’d be happy to push the changes back to you.
Shoot me an email with the address used in the comment.
Thanks,
Sam
Apparently not available at the Android Market for devices with QVGA…
